I have been away for a while, not physically but mentally.  I have been busy in trying to experience the true nature of the world we live in, and to appreciate what we have, what beauty surrounds us, and how this has all become what it is.

My heart expands bigger and bigger with every breath, a breath which gasps the air which has whistled through forests trees, air which has played through green fields lavish with untouched natural miracles, danced with rivers of water and open landscape.  My heart refuses to go back to how it was before, before seeing a natural miracle which surrounds us all the time.

But just to give you an idea of how I feel, I dedicate the following beauty to all of you:

The Universe

What if someone said to an embryo in the womb,

“Outside of your world of black nothing

is a miraculously ordered universe;

a vast Earth covered with tasty food;

mountains, oceans and plains,

fragrant orchards and fields full of crops;

a luminous sky beyond your reach,

with a sun, moonbeams, and uncountable stars;

and there are winds from south, north and west,

and gardens replete with sweet flowers

like a banquet at a wedding feast.

The wonders of this world are beyond description.

What are you doing living in a dark prison,

Drinking blood through that narrow tube?”

But the womb- world is all an embryo knows

And it would not be particularly impressed

By such amazing tales, saying dismissively:

“You’re crazy. That is all a deluded fantasy.”

One day you will look back and laugh at yourself.

You’ll say, “ I can’t believe I was so asleep!

How did I ever forget the truth?

How ridiculous to believe that sadness and sickness

Are anything other than bad dreams.”

Over at Abubakar Jamil blog, I was reading his post titled ‘Light at the end of the funnel‘ and it got me thinking, it got me thinking so deeply I ended up having a to put everything else aside and dig up this quote – this was a quote which lifted me up when I needed lifting, guided me when I needed guidance, gave me love when I needed to be loved.

I dedicate this quote to Abubakar Jamil and I hope this guides you like it did for me:

God turns you from one feeling to another and teaches by means of opposites, so that you will have two wings to fly, not one.

– Jalal al-Din Muhammad Rumi
